- nier: automata wouldn't have gotten as popular
- at least one niche webcomic you love would never have been made

Undertale redefined indie video games, and experienced a fandom surge so powerful there AU sanses with still-active storylines and bespoke micro-fandoms to this day. undertale was the first game to ever replace Ocarina of Time as the #1 game of all time on gameFAQs. Undertale put a song best known for it's inclusion in Homestuck into super smash brothers.
It's genuinely hard to exaggerate the degree to which games, music, comics, and art would not be the same without Undertale. Undertale was revolutionary and its legacy is going to be plainly visible for a long, long time to come.
I don't wanna be an old foagie and rag on the thing kids like these days. But let's be honest here - FNAF is a super popular kids' horror franchise that is going to fade into the background the same way everything does. Undertale was a medium-defining piece of art that changed the real-world politics of a lot of people, myself included. Undertale shattered people's expectations and its impact is hard to overstate.
